Deviating from fashion today - ah well, that's what blogs are for, right? - with an art project that I'm currently drawn to. Tim Etchells created these neon signs that tell a story, spell out a message or an intimate piece of conversation. They were displayed on random street corners, roof tops and store windows and I can imagine I'd be completely sucked in if I were walking around town at midnight and would unexpectedly bump in to one of these phrases. As the artist himself puts it: "The viewer becomes implicated in a situation that's never really revealed."

They just celebrated the one year anniversary of the invention of neon, but now they're dying out because of LED. It's a strange bit of technology evolution.

This would decorate every city. In my city(Vilnius) there are no such neon statements, but on the one riverfront from flowers is written: I Love YOU, and on the other: I Love YOU too.
I love those pics and it's funny because I almost did the same post few months ago.
