Last week I handed in my Master thesis for the one big check point with my counselor. Feeling happy, confident and almost done. So imagine my spirits dropping as I open the feedback document and read that there were "some really big problems". Dammit. (Yeah, those cute blue balloons are all comments, and it's filled with them). Basically I got way too caught up in writing a fun, readable article rather than an academic one and the structure is off. I have 9 more days to change it all - total mental breakdown moment :P. Although my goal for This chick's got style is to post daily, I just wanted to let you know that you might see a little less posts during that time. Back to normal very soon, I hope!

Good luck! From my own experience, I would say try not to take it too personally. For my masters, I had a lecturer at uni read it & she told me it had the structure of a high school essay! (basically, I was writing a conclusion as my introduction, & not really concluding well enough) - harsh criticism is just to put the pressure on & make you think things over again, you'll figure out a way to improve it.

Natuurlijk gaat de scriptie even voor. Heel veel succes en laat het juist door veel mensen lezen. Heeft mij een mooi cijfer opgeleverd uiteindelijk. Commentaar is inderdaad even hard, maar je kunt er alleen maar van leren!

Even doorzetten en dan ben je er vanaf. :-) Ook ik heb vorig jaar mijn thesis moeten herwerken (ik had wel iets meer tijd). Het was een tegenvaller maar ik ben uiteindelijk van een 9 naar een 12 gestegen. Het zal je wel lukken!

Wat een rotnieuws! En herkenbaar. Ik kan me nog goed herinneren dat ik mijn eerste wetenschappelijke stuk schreef en precies hetzelfde commentaar kreeg. Uiteindelijk heb ik alles er aan gedaan om mijn schrijfstijl om te gooien en heb ik het vak afgesloten met een 8. Natuurlijk heel wat anders dan een master these maar het geeft maar aan dat als je het echt wil en er voor gaat, het je gaat lukken! Heel veel succes!

Dat probleem heb ik nou ook echt altijd! Op de universiteit heb ik ook een keer een onvoldoende terug gekregen want: ''je schrijft te leuk''...ik wist niet dat ik zoiets ooit als kritiek te horen zou krijgen haha ;p Heel veel succes ermee!! Denk saai O:)
